Aid Brigid's Volunteer Work In India

One of our readers, Brigid O'Dea is looking for sponsorship for some volunteer work she plans to do this summer.

Brigid is a huge advocate of childhood education and the importance education has on a child's future life. Not only does it prepare us for the world of work, but better education leads to better health, sanitation and confidence, as well as improved social and life skills. 

Brigid has decided to volunteer with Suas this summer. Suas is a charity which works in teaching literacy to disadvantaged children both at home and abroad. Brigid will be travelling to Kolkata in India this summer where she will be working as a teacher in a local school. She will work with the children, the local teachers and community in empowering the youth through the means of education. 

Suas works alongside local organisations and believes in co-operating with the local community in delivering a long-term improvement in education.
