A Message from CY&BC: The Future of Clontarf Pier
)
The pier at Clontarf has a history going back to the mid-19th century. It draws people engaged in wide-ranging activities—boating, fishing, swimming, walking, and simply enjoying the view. The pier and surrounding area are a focal point for the community, with the potential to become an iconic public space for everyone.
Now is your chance to help shape its future!
Clontarf Yacht & Boat Club (CY&BC), which has been closely connected to the pier since its founding in 1875, is inviting YOU to reimagine what this space could become. What would make the pier even better for you? More seating? Better access? A new social or recreational space?
At this stage, the existing pier and the adjacent section of the promenade are struggling to meet the growing needs of our community. Clontarf Residents’ Association has met with CY&BC and sees an exciting opportunity to collaborate as part of the wider redevelopment of Clontarf Promenade.
This campaign is about gathering your ideas—realistic, creative, and inspiring—to help shape a vision for the future of Clontarf Pier. Your input will kickstart public meetings and online discussions on Facebook.
Have your say today! Submit your thoughts here, or next time you're out on the promenade, look for the QR code poster at the slipway (fixed to the Flood Defence mast) and share your ideas in seconds.
Don't miss this chance to make a difference—Clontarf Pier needs YOUR voice!
