A message from CRA Regarding Autumn Leaves!
)
Leaf drop has started a little earlier this year because of the dry, hot summer.
Every year lots of residents help to gather the fallen leaves. This keeps the footpaths clear of leaves thereby making them safer for everyone and prevents leaves blocking the drains.
DCC have again supplied compostable bags for leaves. If you would like to help with gathering the leaves in your area, please email us at Clontarf.res.assoc@gmail.com with your address and we will arrange to drop some bags to you.
Top Tips:
- Use official DCC compostable bags – black sacks, old blue DCC bags etc should not be used.
- Only put leaves in the bags – please do not include other garden or green waste.
- Don’t overfill the bags and make sure to tie a knot in the top to stop the leaves from spilling out.
- Place the bags on the grass verge outside your house and log them for collection here.
- If residents are working together on the same road, gather the bags in one location and log the group of bags for collection.
Leaf nets are the alternative to bagging the leaves. The beauty of this option is that we get some lovely leaf mould to use in the area in a year’s time. If you would like to have a leaf net on your road or green area, please get in touch by emailing your details to Clontarf.res.assoc@gmail.com.
