About the show: SUSIE KENNEDY, the irrepressible singer and performer, has delighted audiences over the years with her hugely successful musical plays and jazz/blues reviews. Her exuberant performances of the saucy songs of the great Sophie Tucker have been particularly popular with the public.
Her shows You Can’t Deep Freeze a Red Hot Momma, Would The Real Judy Garland Please…, Wild Women Don’t Have The Blues, Come Up and See Me Sometime and Forever Fats are highly regarded for their great songs, sense of fun and integrity of performance.
In AS TIME GOES BY, Susie Kennedy explores, through song and story, the ups and downs, the hilarity and the challenges of being ‘an older woman’. She creates thoughtful, moving and sometimes hilarious theatre as she looks at the way people try to stay young, how memory and the figure go and how excitement can come through online dating for the over 65’s. The show features new and original songs as well as many old favourites including, of course, some Sophie Tucker classics.
