Seafield Singers Pay Tribute to Former Musical Director with Special Concert
The Seafield Singers have organised a special concert on Saturday, 20th May to pay tribute to their former musical director, Alison Young.
It will be a tribute to Alison Young who was with the group since the foundation of the choir in 1990. The choir is led by musical director Elizabeth Hilliard.
The compere for the concert will be the wonderful Liz Nolan (Lyric FM). Guests will be treated to the amazing soloists Imelda Drumm (Mezzo Soprano), Owen Gilhooly Miles (Baritone) and David Bremner (accompanist).
Alison Young was a gifted and accomplished pianist. She took over the role of musical director of the Seafield Singers, following the death of her husband William (Bill) Young in 2001, until her retirement in 2015. She continued to have a position in the choir as President of the Seafield Singers. Alison died in October 2022, but her spirit of dedication and commitment to the significant contribution that music makes to both individual and community life and well-being is strongly maintained by the choir.
The concert will be at 3.00 pm in St. John the Baptist Church of Ireland, Seafield Road West, Clontarf. Tickets can be bought from the treasurer at 085 7224219, from Eventbrite or at the door for €20.
