Rose Festival 2014

18 Jul 2014 - 19 Jul 2014 St. Anne's Park, Raheny

UPDATE: The above dates are the correct dates for the Rose Festival 2014. This has been confirmed with the organiser. The Irish Times from Saturday July 5th states that the festival will take place at an earlier date, but this is incorrect.

The annual Rose Festival is returning to St. Anne's Park this July.

The Rose Festival marks the finishing line for the City of Dublin International Rose Trials, in which rose breeders from around the world compete to grow truly incredible roses. Competitors start by offering up some of their seedlings, which are assessed over a period of time by plant experts such as rosarians and horticulturists. The Rose Festival marks the final day of judging. The winner is chosen by international rose experts and is presented with the golden award.

This is a truly great event which attracts rose breeders and plant enthusiasts from at home and abroad. In addition, many traders, craftspeople and organisations will be setting up stalls at the festival. From homemade natural soaps to homeopaths to environmental groups, there is something for everyone and there is certainly a lot to learn. This is a family friendly event. In previous years, activities for children have ranged from face painting to puppet shows.

Best of all, the event takes place in all 270 acres of St. Anne's Park. The sun is expected to shine that weekend, so head out and smell the roses!

If you want to apply to be a vendor at the Rose Festival 2014, you must do so by the 2nd of July 2014. After this date, applications are closed.
