The Raheny Heritage Society will host a talk on 'The Clontarf Allotments in the Newspapers of 1917'

Noel Carolan will speak on the development and progress of allotments at Clontarf/Marino as part of the wartime government's drive to maximise food supply. 

Topics include the volume and types of vegetables grown, the use of Marino House to provide horticulture training, potato spraying problems, visits of the Lord Lieutenant & Chief Secretary to the allotments and ploughing exhibitions at Clontarf. 

This talk will take place at Raheny Library on Wednesday 30th August at 6.30 pm. Admission is free.
