More about Nadri
Nandri has helped educate over 4,000 children since it was founded in 1996. Nandri is mainly run by volunteers in Ireland and its partner charity in India, Child Aid Trust. In Ireland, Nandri has only 1 part-time administrate employee and 8 workers in India who manage our day-to-day operations.
Originally called Child Aid Ireland-India, the name was changed to Nandri to reflect the work we do with mothers, fathers and children. Nandri is the local Tamil Nadu dialect word for thank you.
Our core programmes are focused on empowering the family to educate their children and to overcome extreme poverty and discrimination. This is done through the sponsoring of education for children, Mother self-help groups, providing micro-loans to mothers and micro-finance loans for education and training programs. Nandri is a long-term development programme and are committed to keeping children in the education system for as long as possible and providing income generation support to parents.
Our Christmas Ball & Auction is our only fundraiser throughout the year and all the money raised goes directly to change the lives of 5,000 impoverished Indian mothers and children.
