Dublin Bay SUP Club host Irish SUP Racing Champs!
The Dublin Bay SUP Club will host the Irish Stand Up Paddleboarding Racing National Championships this weekend, Sat 24th & Sun 25th June.
Between 15 - 20 athletes will take part in this weekends' races. Friday evening will see 200m sprints in the Grand Canal Basin from 19.30. On Saturday there will be a technical race on Dollymount beach. This is a 3/4km race course that involves several buoys turns and a beach sprint finish. The technical race is a short course that challenges competitors with their turning skills.
Sunday from 11 am competitors will race the distance course. This is approx 15km and will test the endurance, stamina and speed on the athletes. The race will kick off at the slip way opposite Clontarf Yacht & Boat Club. We encourage everyone to come down and support these athletes as they battle it out to claim National Champion titles and earn a position on Team Ireland for the SUP World Championships 2017 in Denmark.
This event is free for all spectators, so why not pop down and support this local club!
