The Clontarf Historical Society Talk for October 2018 will be "Dev in the USA 1919-1920" by Dr. Charles Hannon
De Valera’s idea to seek support for the Irish Republic in the USA was his own idea and conducted on his own terms from beginning to end. This individual campaign exposed the real character of De Valera and sets the scene for developments in Ireland after his return which bears an uncanny resemblance to events as they had unfolded in the USA.
