The Clontarf Historical Society Talk for December 2018 will be "Patrick Kavanagh, Poet – His Life and Times" by Peter J. McDonnell.
Patrick Kavanagh (1904 - 1967) was born in Co. Monaghan. He came to Dublin in 1939 to become a full-time writer. During his time in Dublin, he became one of Ireland's best known literary figures and is now one of the most quoted poets Ireland has produced.
