Christian Unity Service @ St. John the Baptist Church
To kick the 150th anniversary celebrations in the Church of St. John the Baptist, Seafield Road, the annual Service for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity will be held at the Church on Sunday 24 January at 3pm.
It is hoped that representatives from all six churches in Clontarf will be taking part. The guest preacher of the service will be Kieran O’Mahony OSA, an Augustinian friar and biblical scholar. He lives in Orlagh, the Augustinian pastoral centre in Dublin, and works for Dublin Diocese as coordinator of biblical studies. At the moment, he is the middle of a five year term as one of the ecumenical canons of St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin (Church of Ireland) where he takes part in the life of the Cathedral and preaches twice a year.
This event promises to be a rewarding and enjoyable time of worship and fellowship. There will be refreshments afterwards in the Parish Centre. All welcome.
