Battle of Clontarf Where it all ended
We all learned a particular version of the story in school and there have been many myths and embellishments written about the battle. Eight of the top speakers on the subject will present the topics from Viking Kings and Kingship” to “The archaeology of Wood quay” to “Brian Boru and his Dal Cais origins” to “Good Friday 1014, researching the facts a millennium later”. We will end the event with a panel discussion next May on “1014 – 2014 Battle of Clontarf – what new insights”.
Charge €5 per lecture for non-members. Attendance by members of both historical societies is included in annual membership of €20.
Online booking available at www.clasac.ie or pay on the night.
