Battle of Clontarf Special Traditional Boat Rally
CY&BC are inviting many of the differing classes of Clinker boats from many parts of the country to participate. In addition to the sailing craft we will have the rowing skiffs from various locations in Dublin - many of them rowed by the Sea Scouts.
The events will take place in the area between the Clontarf Promenade and the Ferrry Terminal so there will be ideal viewing for the public. Other types of traditional boats - yachts and currachs will also be in attendance. The junior sailors in the club will be sailing in their regular craft – some of which are wooden but most will be of modern glasssfibre construction.
In the CY&BC clubhouse there will a varied programme of activities with the HX brass band in the afternoon and the fabulous Brian Smyth, on Saturday night (no cover charge- all welcome).
