Rose Festival & Viking Festival at St Anne's Park 2011
With plans underway for the commemoration of the Battle of Clontarf in 2014 The Viking Festival has moved to St Anne’s as part of this years Dublin Rose Festival. It will be bigger and better than before with over 20 Viking tents in the village demonstrating a wide variety of crafts such as rope making, coin strik- ing, Viking cooking, and many more. We will have a Viking longboat on display as well as archery you can try and a display of falconry. There will also be the very popular battle re-enactments with around 50 Viking warriors taking part. So come along and try on a Viking Helmet, feel the weight of a battle axe and see how the Vikings, who settled Dublin all those years ago lived.
