2015 Mighty Matthew Coast to Coast Cycle

20 Aug 2015 - 20 Aug 2015 From the Woodenbridge at Clontarf on the East Coast, to Westport Quay on the Atlantic West Coast

The inaugural Mighty Matthew Coast to Coast Cycle – from the Wooden Bridge at Clontarf on the East Coast, to Westport Quay on the Atlantic West Coast – a leisurely cycle of just 280 km will take place in August 2015.

The cycle is to raise funds for the Matthew Hayes Trust and we have over 40 cyclists participating – with the majority of these new to cycling and new to wearing Lycra!

The cycle will run over 2 days – Friday 21st August and Saturday 22nd August 2015. On Friday 21st we will set off from the Woodenbridge and cycle approximately 130km to our stop over location – Longford. Early on the Saturday morning we will hit the road again for the remaining 130km to Westport.

The Matthew Hayes Trust is a fund set up to support the development and care for Matthew Hayes. Matthew is a local boy from Clontarf who was diagnosed at age 3 with Autism and now at 16 years of age has so many challenging behaviours. The aim of the Trust is to help provide support for Matthew’s development and to ensure he receives the necessary support and care required.
