The National Archives recently made details of compensation claims relating to the 1916 Rising, available online. This fascinating archive shows the different ways ordinary citizens were affected and details of incidents not generally reported. From a social history perspective, details of those engaged to carry out repairs, together with headed paper and images of companies are also revealed.
Note: Meetings are held on the second Monday of every month at 8.15pm from September to June in the Resource Centre, in the grounds of St.John the Baptist Church, Clontarf Road
